Emmy Mikelson is an interdisciplinary artist living in New York City. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally; recent video screenings include Trani, Italy; Mexico City, Mexico; and Espoo, Finland. She participated in the Labverde science and art research residency at the Adolpho Ducke Rainforest Reserve in Manaus, Brazil. She was awarded new media arts residencies at Signal Culture (Owego, NY) and CultureHub (La MaMa Gallery, New York, NY).  She has published text and artwork in several experimental architecture journals including Nova Organa, KTISMA, and Moinopolis, and co-authored with Katherine Behar,  the publication And Another Thing: Nonanthropocentrism and Art (punctum books, 2016). She has been an invited speaker at the Center for Transformative Media at Parsons the New School for Design, NY; Maysles Cinema, Harlem, NY; Pace University, NY; and a guest curator for the James Gallery at the Graduate Center (CUNY). She received a BFA from the University of Iowa and her MFA from Hunter College, CUNY. She is currently completing an MA in Psychology from the School of Professional Studies, CUNY.
